Who we are

On behalf of me and my friend, we strongly recommend birding the Lima area with Nicole Henriod. We just completed a custom tour to target many species, resulting in us booking a second day for another nearby Lima region due to our success and great experience on the first day. Nicole has many amazing spots that are not only great for viewing some of Peru's amazing species, but also great for photography. We were able to check off most of the species we were targeting (and many more) and beyond that we had many fun conversations, laughs, and outdoor excursions. If you are looking for a shorter tour, I highly recommend Nicole's Pantanos de Villa tour where you will see tons of ocean and wetland species! If interested in seabirds and photography, her trip to Pucusana is unbeatable, with a small boat that feels secure and is low to the water, a wildlife photographers dream! The boat captain and Nicole have many great spots for each species and can almost guarantee that you will see all the seabirds as well as the endemic Surf Cinclodes. This tour is followed by a very yummy meal, before heading back to Lima. All in all, we had an amazing experience and highly recommend Nicole's Avitour :) 

I went with Nicole on the full-day tour to Puerto Viejo, Azpitia Road, and Pucusana. The experience was great from the initial booking process which was clear to the prompt pick-up. Her guiding was excellent, spotting out birds of interesting, and leaving ample time for viewing and taking pictures. Her driver and the boat driver were great, too! Would recommend to anyone visiting Lima. 

 I went on Nicole's 1/2 day tour to Bosque de Olivar and then Pantanos de Villa. What a delightful experience! Nicole has an engaging personality and is very knowledgeable about the birds. She is a very good spotter and was able to get me on almost all the birds she saw. She picked me up and dropped me at my hotel. Both sites are lovey and I saw many many new birds. Nicole provided me with a wonderful morning of birding. On my last day in Lima, Nicole was able to arrange her schedule (on short notice) to take me to Isla de Pucusana in the afternoon. Again she arranged the transportation. I highly recommend this outing. It was so unusual and exciting. Nicole was able to show me many seabird species. She is amazing in her ability to spot birds! I not only had wonderful experiences birding, I felt I made a friend. I can't say enough about Nicole and her birding adventures! 

 
I had a very good time learning about various facts of birds. I’ve visited Lima many times but had never realized that we can see so many species in Lima. I appreciate that you created eBird lists for me.

"Highly recommend Avitour Peru! I did 2 tours with Avitour, Olivar Park  and Pantanos de Villa (wetland area) this September and October.  Nicole, the bird expert/guide is extremely knowledgeable of all birds that comes or resides to Lima and throughout Peru and is a pleasure to be with. The Pantanos de Villa near Lima is unbelievable in terms of birds. So so many  locals and migratory birds and unique variety.  Pantanos Tour  was extremely well planned and organized: coastal area, beach, other wetlands area, an urban park and the marshes via boat. After doing both tours, I feel that it is very important to have a guide that can show you the different areas, the bird species as they present themselves, and spots many of them. In my opinion, it makes for a much better experience rather than struggling on your own. In addition, the tour included drop off and pick up and an eBird list. Top marks all around for both tours! Just finished an excellent full day birding with Nicole. Fantastic. Reliable, personable and a good guide to boot. A very well planned day birding just south of Lima. Loved each segment of her tour.

Boat tour was the highlight but the terrestrial birding was excellent. Our small group featured experienced birders on their first exposure to Peru.

Her driver did a great job in a nice vehicle. Enjoyed a relaxed local lunch in a quaint fishing town.
